The Elgin Military Museum with have the submarine as the centrepiece of their new Naval Museum. While September seems a long way away, there is still a lot of work to be done before HMCS Obibwa is loaded onto a floating dry dock in Halifax to begin her final journey.
HMCS Ojibwa was originally built for the Royal Navy but transferred to the Royal Canadian Navy before she was completed. She was launched on February 29th 1964 and served until she was decommissioned in 1998.
