This past weekend, Mother Nature gave us a sneak peek at spring. (At least in my part of the world.) John and I took advantage of the sunshine and went out for an amazing walk.
The lovely spring weather was a lovely reminder for me that when things seem bleak, we can tend to focus on the negative and when the sun comes out, we focus more on the positive :)
The thoughts and words that we think and speak are extremely powerful and play an important role in our beliefs as well as our habits and behaviours.
Check out today’s feature article where I dig into this topic!

“I really enjoyed working with Dr. Peggy on my journey to Health and Wellness.
At first I wasn’t sure what to expect from the program but I was excited to see where it would take me.
I had many struggles throughout the 12 weeks and Dr. Peggy was always there to offer valuable information and to be very supportive.
She taught me to always look for a silver lining because it’s important to celebrate even the smallest thing.
Dr. Peggy took a “non-judgmental” approach and I found it very easy to be open and honest with her about the issues I was facing.
I liked that Dr. Peggy made me accountable for all my actions. It forced me to take an “outside look in” and I discovered a lot more about myself than I had expected to.
The skills and tools that Dr. Peggy taught me will help me to move forward and continue of the path of Health and Wellness.
Thank you Dr. Peggy!”

Words and thoughts are powerful.
What you think about and talk about most of the time will show up in your life.
If you think negative thoughts all the time, don’t be surprised if a lot of negative stuff happens to you. Conversely, positive thoughts lead to a positive life. This sounds simplified but all things being equal… this is true!
The way that you talk to yourself creates your beliefs and your beliefs show up in your life as your habits and behaviours.
If you speak to yourself positively and encouragingly then you will create positive beliefs and you will then find that you have more positive habits and behaviours that lead to a more successful life.
This success can include good health and good relationships as well as success in your career.
Let’s examine a little more closely the way that you may be talking to yourself.
Do these thoughts go through your mind sometimes?
“I’m no good.”
“I’ll never be able to do it.”
“I’m a failure.”
Now imagine for a second that I met you at a party or a networking event and after I introduced myself to you I said one of these things to you.
It would be offensive and totally unacceptable.
So why is it acceptable for you to be telling these things to yourself on a regular basis?
And just like any habit… you can decide to change it.
If it is your habit to speak to yourself negatively, then choose to take on the new habit of speaking kind words to yourself.
Your thoughts become your words.
Your words become your actions.
Your actions become your habits.
Your habits become your character
Your character becomes your destiny.
Your words and thoughts are powerful.
Choose useful and positive words and thoughts and speak to yourself kindly… you are listening .
