Everyone is in the same boat. Christmas has come and gone, we spent too much money on the ones we love, credit card bills are piling up, luckily the price of beer hasn’t gone up. There are plenty of ways to save money. Financial planning is one way. Selling a kidney is another. How about something that is free, doesn’t require pain or lots of ice and is really easy to do?
We all love getting the flyers on a Thursday or Friday. Glossy pages full of items on sale, some you want, some you need, some you just don’t care about. In another post we can go over price matching and using the flyers to only have to shop at one store but still get all the discounts other stores are offering.
How about coupons?
You can sometimes get coupons with the flyers or in magazines but imagine getting them more often. There are websites such as websaver.ca which allow you to browse the website, select which coupons you want and they then appear at your house in a matter of days. To make things even better, for every coupons redeemed, websaver donates 5 cents to breakfast for learning.
Yesterday, the mail lady delivered the following coupons to us:
B1G1 (buy one get one) buy Special K cereal get Special K fruit crisps free
B1G1 All bran cereal get all bran 180g snacks free
B1G1 Rice Krispies get rice krispies 176g snack bars free
B1G1 Kashi cereal get kashi 210g snacks free
Save $1 WUB (when you buy) any one clorox toilet cleaner with bleach
Save $1 off any nutri-grain snack
Save $1 WUB 2 dozen eggs
As you can see, apart from the bleach, we are going to be eating healthy for the next while.
There are many websites out there that offer such coupon services. Another is brandsaver.ca which is actually a Proctor and Gamble website that offers coupons for their products. For those who are unaware, Proctor and Gamble produce Febreze, Gillette, Herbal Essences, Iams, Oral-B amd Puffs. You probably use one or two of these products.
To get these coupons all you need to do is sign up, pick your coupons and wait. They take a couple of weeks to arrive but when they do……. you save money. You really have nothing to lose and only money to gain. We cannot think of an easier way to save money and if you are not taking advantage of such services, you are spending too much money.
