Have you ever wondered how the Romans got into those togas? Did someone really say “Veni, vidi, vici”? What does “mea culpa” mean? And what are “pecuniary” assets?

Discover the answers and many more when you explore the language and culture of the Ancient Romans and their relevance in our daily lives.

You will be introduced to Latin vocabulary and translation along with English derivatives.

Cultural topics to be discussed include:

Chariot racing
Mount Vesuvius
Family life
The baths
“Love That Latin” classes are taught by Nancy Stormes, a former Latin teacher from Alma College.

All material is supplied for these free classes! (Materials include doutang with lined paper and a pen/pencil. If you would like to bring your own material, St. Thomas Public Library appreciates it!)

- A little crazy, a little lazy, always fun.

One of the most enjoyable activities for me is helping people. I can be a little misguided, but my heart is in the right place.

I wont tell you how to live YOUR life, but I might give you some insight on how I live mine.
