Campbell, Beverley Joanne of St. Thomas, passed away at her late residence, on Monday, August 12th, 2013, in her 73rd year. Beloved wife of the late Glenn R. Campbell (Feb. 3, 2007) and dearly loved mother of Victoria Ann and her husband Steve Flannery of Flint, Michigan and Jacqueline Ann Haskins of St. Thomas. Loved grandmother of Sydney Jacqueline and Taylor Nicole Haskins and Heather Elizabeth and Rachel Victoria Flannery. Dear sister of the late Valerie Ann Phillips (March 24, 2003) and her husband Jack Phillips of St. Thomas. Sadly missed by a number of nephews. Bev was born in St. Thomas on March 22, 1941, the daughter of the late Roy Gordon and Viola Mildred (Ford) Thomson. She was a member of Central United Church. Bev was a long time accountant with Williams Funeral Home and formerly worked for Banghart, Kelly and Doig Accounting.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home , 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation on Friday from 2:30-4:30 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
The Williams Funeral Home was founded in 1893 by P.R. Williams and is one of the oldest Funeral businesses in the province. Over the next seven decades the business was passed down through several generations in the Williams Family. In the eariler years they occupied a number of different buildings along Talbot Street and in 1929 they purchased the building at 45 Elgin Street, from which they still operate.
In 1966, Gordon Hughson, who had operated the Hughson Funeral Home in Aylmer for the previous twenty one years, purchased the funeral home and continued the long tradition of dedication and service. Currently, the funeral home is operated by his sons, Allan and Gary Hughson.
