Person, Marion of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully, at her late residence, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, June 3, 2013, in her 75th year. Dearly loved mother of Kathy and her husband David Sheeller of St. Thomas and dear sister of Ruth Hubbard and her husband Dan of Port Ryersee. Predeceased by her sister Eleanor Vaughan and by her brother William ( late Lorraine) Person. Survived by brother-in-law Robert Vaughan of London. Loved grandmother of Christopher (Stacey), Cassandra (Cory), April, Kaytlyn, Brandon and Jessica and great grandmother of Kendra, Ty, Madison and Vivian. Sadly missed by nephews. Marion was born in Rodney on November 5th, 1938, the daughter of the late Walter and Mildred (Humphries) Person. She worked at C.I.B.C. over 30 years.
Resting at Williams Funeral Hospital , 45 Elgin St. , St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Rodney Cemetery on Friday at 2:30 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the L.H.S.C. (Sick Children’s Hospital), London. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 7-9p.m.
The Williams Funeral Home was founded in 1893 by P.R. Williams and is one of the oldest Funeral businesses in the province. Over the next seven decades the business was passed down through several generations in the Williams Family. In the eariler years they occupied a number of different buildings along Talbot Street and in 1929 they purchased the building at 45 Elgin Street, from which they still operate.
In 1966, Gordon Hughson, who had operated the Hughson Funeral Home in Aylmer for the previous twenty one years, purchased the funeral home and continued the long tradition of dedication and service. Currently, the funeral home is operated by his sons, Allan and Gary Hughson.
