QUEEN’S PARK – At the Legislature’s annual Ontario Craft Beer Tasting and Selection Reception, Railway City Brewing’s signature Dead Elephant ale stood above the rest. The brew was once again voted to be the Legislature’s featured beer in the Bold Flavoured Ale category for the 2013/14 session.
“Railway City Brewing Company is a phenomenal St. Thomas success story,” said Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek. “They’re only five years old and have already won this competition four times. Evidently, Ontario’s MPPs can’t get enough of Dead Elephant ale.”
At the annual reception, MPPs, reporters, and staff have the opportunity to sample beers from various craft brewers. Each attendee votes on their favourite labels in a number of categories. The winning beer in each category is selected as a featured beer for the year at the Legislative Dining Room and all Legislative receptions.
While Railway City Brewing Company continues to win over beer drinkers with their unique flavours, they continue to build on their business success. Recently the brewer announced plans to expand its operations in St. Thomas.
“They continue to grow. It’s not hard to understand why when you sample their product. Each brand of theirs is crafted carefully with all-natural ingredients. I’m proud to see this business continue to thrive, grow and create jobs.”
