Not all of these prognostications are mine but here they are anyway:
The Bruins will be good again.
RIM will not go under or be sold.
The weather in this part of the world will not vary much from the norm.
Jon Huntsman and Mitch Daniels will become names Americans know.
Electric cars will be produced and sold in large numbers in the first quarter of the year after the next one.
The Arab Spring will start to resemble 1848 more than 1989. To paraphrase, “A turning point in history that didn’t happen.”
The NFL will play its next season.
The Boston Red Sox will win the World Series. (Well, they should but as a result of the idiotic playoff system in the MLB, the best team no longer always wins.) They simply have the best players.
There will be a scandal involving CIS football coaches and players. And not just for steroids.
I will have a flying car. (See Popular Mechanics circa 1950) It will be electric.
The electric battery will be perfected right after the millionth electric car has been sold. (In the first quarter, etc. etc. )
Dalton McGuinty and the Liberals will lose the next provincial election.
The Chinese government will continue to intimidate, persecute and imprison those who defy its dictates.
We won’t care about it.
Barack Obama will lose the next presidential election because he spends too much time on the golf course, is an indifferent executive and has not delivered the economic growth he promised.
Barack Obama will win the next election because he is not really terrible and it makes Americans feel good to have a black president.
Canadian banks will be as profitable as the world economy allows them to be.
‘Thor’ will not win Best Picture at the Academy Awards.
Apple will damage its brand and its stock price by introducing a cheaper, less able iPhone.
Apple will lose market share to Android powered devices by not introducing a cheaper, less able iPhone.
More people will die as they text, Twitter, surf or Facebook while they walk, run, drive or bicycle.
Technology will promote the non-use of personal electronic devices to send confidential political, business or personal messages.
Printers will break down.
Russia will experience upheaval as they try at perestroika, again.
Nanotechnology will solve the world`s energy problems, right after the electric battery is perfected.
A hole will appear in one of London`s busiest intersections.
Germany will buy up most of Europe, completing peacefully what the Kaiser rather more aggressively started so many years ago.
Summer will begin.
