Titan is mighty

Titan is a stunning, young German Shepherd Dog

Everyone who meets him comments on what has been described as his “haunting beauty”. If you love the German Shepherd Breed you will love Titan. He is about 80 pounds right now but with those big paws we still don’t know how big he could get. The size of a King Shepherd. Gorgeous black and tan markings and silky, fluffy coat. He is extremely well behaved in the house; he’s never had an accident and will paw at the door or signal to go out. He doesn’t get after anything in the house except his toys. He is good with most people and has lived with children, although he can be protective of his foster mom with strangers at times. He is obedient in the house, crate trained, and knows his sit and down stay.

Unfortunately Titan was rescued at about a year from a bad situation and he has some issues. Specifically he is extremely reactive to other dogs. Some dogs come to rescue carrying the scars of their abuse and neglect on their body. Titan is damaged inside; he is afraid of other dogs but shows his fear through aggression. Due to his size and strength, he can be dangerous to other animals and himself without a very experienced handler whose exercises constant vigilance and safety planning around other animals. Titan is getting professional training right now to work on his reactivity to other dogs and to learn he can trust people to be his leader and that other dogs won’t hurt him. It is a slow process and there are no overnight cures. He may always be a dog who prefers to live alone with his human family without other dogs or cats. Titan’s family will have a great deal of work ahead of them, but will also gain a dog who will serve, protect and love them with all his puppy heart.

If you love the German Shepherd Breed, Titan is a rare opportunity to get a gorgeous, young dog through a rescue program. He will need an experienced owner who will understand his issues and commit to working with him, possibly for life. Titan is young and trainable but his problems won’t go away quickly. We believe his behaviours can be managed with dedication and training. If you have read Titan’s biography and you would like to meet him, please contact All Breed Canine Rescue.”
