Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day

In 1966 the Uniform Time Act began instituting Eastern Daylight Time. It originally ended on the last Sunday of October but in 1987 the beginning was moved to the first Sunday in April. When the Energy Policy Act of 2005 was enacted the beginning was moved to the second Sunday in March, changing at 03:00 EDT rather than 02:00 as before. Eastern Daylight Time now goes back from 02:00 to 01:00 on the first Sunday of November. To keep in step with the United States, Canada adheres with the Energy Policy Act.

In the UK however, British Summer Time begins on the last Sunday of March and ends on the last Sunday of October causing the usual 5 hour difference between Canada and the UK fluctuates between 4 hours at the beginning of Eastern Daylight Time and 6 hours at the end of Eastern Daylight time.

In Ontario only east of Thunder Bay observes EDT along with most of Quebec and Nunavut. In the US 17 states observe Eastern time and there are 6 states who are actually split, Alabama, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Tennessee.

This year, EDT ends on 2AM Sunday, 6th of November, when we get a bonus hour in bed. Remember to change your watches, clocks, nuclear time keeper or other time reporter and if you are lucky enough to be out partying at 2AM on Sunday 6th, you get an extra hour to try and get lucky!

It’s astounding
Time is fleeting
Madness takes its toll
But listen closely

Not for very much longer
I’ve got to keep control

I remember doing the Time Warp
Drinking those moments when
The blackness would hit me
And the void would be calling

Let’s do the Time Warp again
Let’s do the Time Warp again

It’s just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
With your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight
But it’s the pelvic thrust
That really drives you insane

Let’s do the Time Warp again
Let’s do the Time Warp again

It’s so dreamy
Oh, fantasy free me
So you can’t see me
No, not at all

In another dimension
With voyeuristic intention
Well secluded, I see all

With a bit of a mind flip
You’re into the time slip

And nothing can ever be the same
You’re spaced out on sensation
Like you’re under sedation

Let’s do the Time Warp again
Let’s do the Time Warp again

Well I was walking down the street
Just a having a think
When a snake of a guy gave me an evil wink
He shook-a me up, he took me by surprise
He had a pick up truck and the devil’s eyes
He stared at me and I felt a change
Time meant nothing, never would again

Let’s do the Time Warp again
Let’s do the Time Warp again

It’s just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
With your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight
But it’s the pelvic thrust
That really drives you insane

Let’s do the Time Warp again
Let’s do the Time Warp again
