Woermke, Lawrence Joseph

Woermke-Lawrence Joseph of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, March 27th, 2016, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Christine (King) Woermke and dearly loved father of Dorothy Steven ( late Jack), Laura Woermke (Jim Coburn), Kathleen Woermke and Michelle Weormke. Loved grandfather of Emm, Carter, Wylie, Cooper, Dalton, Matthew, Amie, Maggie, Truman and Dani. Dear brother of Pam Sims (John) and Ron Woermke. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Lawrence was born in Madawaska, on March 9, 1941, the son of the late Clarence and Celestine (Clunas) Woermke. He was a retired independent painter and worked for Doug Tarry Homes, Hayhoe Homes and Phil Bishop Painting.

A public open house will be held at the St. Thomas-Elgin Public Art Gallery on Sunday, April 17th from 2-4 p.m. A private family service will be held at the Old St. Thomas Churchyard Cemetery (Scattering Gardens).
