Beaudry, Maurice Hector of St. Thomas, passed away on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital in his 82nd year. Dearly loved husband of Betty (Blundon) (Burrell) Beaudry and loved father of Michele (Robert) DeRyk of Aylmer, Kevin (Krista) Beaudry of Mississauga, Martha (Chris) Hornsby of Etobicoke, and Greg Beaudry of St. Catharines and dear step-father of Steve Burrell of St. Thomas, Connie Bailey of St. Thomas and Scott Burrell of Kitchener. Dear brother of the late Gerald (late Nellie) Beaudry, Claire (Aime) Bernardin of Elie, Man., Arthur (Sue) Beaudry of St. Thomas, Laura (LateRalph) Minor of Sarnia,Olive (late Napoleon) Comeault of Winnipeg, Man., late Rita Beaudry, George (Betty) Beaudry of St. Thomas, late Andrew Beaudry (Catherine) of St. Thomas, Lucille (late James) Nicili of Dorchester. Sadly missed by a number of grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Maurice was born in Ste Rose du Lac, Manitoba on December 8th, 1931, the son of the late Elphege and Marthe (Leclerc) Beaudry. He was a member of St. Anne’s Church. Maurice founded M.H. Beaudry Real Estate Brokerage and was the former chairman of the St. Thomas Industrial Development Corp., Past Chairman of the Economic Development Board of the City of St Thomas, a member of the Knights of Columbus, charter member of the Pinafore Park Memory Garden Committee, longtime member of the St. Thomas Kiwanis Club, a former member of the Festival Board of St. Anne’s Church, a former member of the Railway Museum Board (CASO). He had a lifelong interest in thoroughbred horse breeding. Maurice helped in bringing the extension to the runway at the St. Thomas Airport to encourage new business. He was a lifelong supporter of the community of St. Thomas and was eager to promote anything that would benefit our Community.
The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne’s Church on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Angels’ Cemetery. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Friday at 4:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Memory Garden of Pinafore Park , the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital (Cancer Unit) or charity of choice
