Dean, Wesley “Clare” of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, November 16th, 2016, at his residence, at the age of 85. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Helen (Kipp) Dean and loved father of Karon Zimmer of St. Thomas . Loved grandfather of Christine Gleed (Brad) and Michael Gordon (Susanne) and great grandfather of Brady, Carter, Bryce and Brinley. Dear brother Clarence Dean (Glenna) of St. Thomas, Carol Zacher (Gary) of St. Thomas and the late Norman Dean. Clare was born in Port Burwell on June 29th, 1931, the son of the late Charles and Pearl (Armour) Dean. He owned and operated Clare Motors in Port Stanley and also worked as a foreman with the County of Elgin. . Clare was a member of Baptist Church. He was a life member of St. Mark’s Masonic Lodge # 94 A.F. and A.M., Port Stanley and a member of Oddfellows Lodge #93. Clair loved playing music on his guitar, especially country music and entertaining. He founded the musical group “The Retreads”. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Saturday from 12:00-1:00 p.m. A Memorial service to celebrate Clare’s life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 1:00 p. m. Cremation has taken place. Private interment of ashes in Union Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
