Durfey – Phylliss Jean (Morriss) of Elgin Manor, St. Thomas passed away peacefully at her late residence on Sunday, February 7th, 2016 in her 97th year. Beloved wife of the late William Albert Durfey (Railroad Engineer) and dearly loved mother of Patricia Austin, David Durfey, Virginia Durfey and Fran Whisken. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Wayde (Susan), Brandon and Brett, all of Nova Scotia, and by a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Dear sister of Richard Morriss of St. Thomas. Predeceased by a brother Max and a sister Wilma Whitehead. Phylliss was born in St. Thomas on December 31st, 1919, daughter of the late Edgar Maxwell “Max” and Myrtle Florence (Davidson) Morriss. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas.
A private family service will be held. No public visitation. Cremation has taken place with interment of ashes in Elmdale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Elgin-St. Thomas. Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas entrusted with arrangements.
