Eaton-Edward “Ted” L. of Port Stanley, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family in his 77th year. Dearly loved husband of Joanne (Thomas) Eaton and loved father of Jim Eaton (Marcy Janoska) and Eleisha Palmer (John). Cherished grandfather of Tyler Eaton, Nykole Crevits and Mark and Max Palmer. Dear brother of John Eaton (Pat) and Mary Tully (Robin). Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Ted was born in St. Thomas on September 3, 1939, the son of the late Frederick and Henrietta “Marie” (Bowey) Eaton. He started his working career working at the Eaton Bicycle Shop, then worked for St. Thomas Metal Signs, Clark Equipment (V.M.E.) where he was a foreman and the General foreman of the Welding Department. There he made many good friends and had many great memories. He finished his career after V.M. E. closed down working for Con Tran in St. Thomas. Ted was a leader and wonderful role model for his family and was always fun to be around. Ted enjoyed boating and was a past member of the Kanagio Yacht Club .
A private family service will be held. No public visitation. Cremation, with interment of ashes with his mother in St. Thomas Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the London Regional Cancer Centre.
