FOWLER, Roy Donald, 63, of St. Thomas, ON, passed away at home on Monday, January 16, 2017. Roy was born on February 21, 1953 in Simcoe, ON. He was predeceased by his parents Donald (2015) and Bernice (2001), and is lovingly remembered by his sister Anne and her husband Robert Neill. Roy was a devoted uncle to his nephews, Christopher Neill (Christina) and Todd Neill (Andrea), and loved spending time with his great nephews and nieces who will miss him dearly. He is also fondly remembered by several cousins and the entire Neill family. Roy was a graduate of Arthur Voaden Secondary School, and a lifelong resident of St. Thomas. He enjoyed a career working for Emerson Network Power (formerly Reliance Telecommunications) for more than thirty years. He leaves behind many friends in the community. Roy’s idea of a perfect day was lunch at Ted’s Place, sunny weather, and nothing but his motorcycle and the open road to Port Bruce and back. Roy will always be remembered for his wonderful laugh, and even though he is no longer with us, we are comforted that he is at peace now. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and private interment will be made in the St. Thomas Cemetery, West Ave. A service to celebrate Roy’s life will be held at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160) on Friday, January 20th at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends will be received by the family one hour prior. Flowers respectfully declined. If so desired, memorial donations to the Parkinson Society Southwestern Ontario or the Canadian Mental Health Association (Elgin Branch) will be gratefully acknowledged.
“What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us.” Helen Keller
