Horton Gordon A. “Gord” (October 23, 1944-June 21, 2016) slipped away quietly on a summer afternoon at Elgin Manor. He had a strong passion and commitment to living a life full of humour, adventure, friends and family. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elaine, children Jonathan Binks, Coby and Anderson, Todd and Nicole Horton, Sarah and Evan , Jacob, Gena and Clyde McCoy, Madison and Nicholas. Gord leaves behind brother Rick and Kathy, sisters Dede and Elise and sister-in-law Yvonne and Stewart, Louise Lyle and a very special mother Betty. He is predeceased by his father Ernest and his daughter Janine. Gord’s career spanned thirty years at the Ford Motor Company, Talbotville. Retirement was filled with golf games, travelling the world and watching with profound love the development of his grandchildren. We are grateful for all that Gord was but feel deep sorrow for the loss of all that may have been. In honour of Gord’s reverence for nature and people all walks of life please bestow a random act of kindness.
At Gord’s request a celebration of his life will be held at the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club, Union on Tuesday June 28th from 2-4 p.m. Condolences may be sent to ahughson@execulink.com. Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas in charge of arrangements.
