MasonicKELLY, Leonard W. “Len”, of St. Thomas, passed away at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Friday, February 20, 2015, in his 84th year. Beloved husband for over 58 years to Mary (nee Carmichael) Kelly. Dearly loved father of Allen Kelly (Julie), Wayne Kelly (Angela), all of St. Thomas, and John Kelly of London. Cherished grandfather of Andrew (Frances), Mark (Justine), Matthew (fiancée Ashley), Christopher, Bradley and Noah Kelly. Proud great grandfather of Luke and Logan Kelly. Dear brother of Pauline Lindsay (late Dan) of R.R.8, St. Thomas. Also fondly remembered by his brother-in-law, James D. Carmichael (Evelyn) of West Lorne, as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, William “Bill” and Anna Mae (nee Lalonde) Kelly, a sister, Audrey, and two brothers, Gordon and Douglas Kelly. Len was born on October 1, 1931 in Southwold Twp., ON. He was a retired employee of the County of Elgin. Len was a valued member of Knox Presbyterian Church, St. Thomas, where he was an Elder Emeritus, a member of the Men’s Brotherhood, and a former roll clerk of the Session. He was a former long-time member of Alma St. Presbyterian Church. Len was a Past Master and Life Member of St. David’s Lodge #302, A.F. & A.M., St. Thomas, a member of Mocha Temple Shrine, London, and the Hi-Ro Shrine Club Clown Unit. Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Tuesday, February 24th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas (519-631-1160). A masonic memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. under the auspices of St. David’s Lodge #302, A.F. & A.M. The funeral service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 55 Hincks St., St. Thomas on Wednesday, February 25th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be made privately in Elmdale Memorial Park. Flowers graciously declined. If so desired, memorial donations to Knox Presbyterian Church, ALS Canada, or the charity of one’s choice will be appreciated.
