Ker – Arnold LeRoy

Ker – Arnold LeRoy of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Tuesday, April 14th, 2015, in his 89th year. Beloved wife and best friend for over 65 years to Ethel Lorrene (Cunningham) Ker and dearly loved father of Deborah Chapman (Steve) of Kitchener, Jack Ker (Patricia) of Nova Scotia, Daniel Ker of Newmarket and Scott Ker (Erin) of London. Lovingly remembered by his 4 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. Arnold was born in Brownsville on January 3rd, 1927, son of the late Milton Henry and Marion (Rice)  Ker. He was the last of his family and predeceased by his six siblings. Arnold was retired from the Railway. He worked for Penn Central, New York Central and also worked a number of years at Dowler-Karn. He was a member of the St. Thomas Curling Club and also enjoyed playing golf in his spare time.

The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas on Saturday from 2-3pm. Memorial service to celebrate Arnold’s life will be held Saturday at 3:00pm. Cremation has taken place with private interment of ashes in Waterford Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Community Living Newmarket or charity of one’s choice.
