Kerr, Barbara Eileen

Kerr, Barbara Eileen of Extendicare, Port Stanley and formerly of Fingal, passed away peacefully, on Saturday, August 16th, 2014, at her late residence. Dearly loved wife of Malcolm “Mac” Kerr and loved mother of Brenda Kerr of St. Thomas, Janice Jeffery (Rick) of St. Thomas and Monica Davie (Rob) of Fingal. Loved grandmother of Stephanie, Katelyn, Tyler, Kesha, Levi and Ethan and great grandmother of Keaton.  Dear sister of Russell Major of London, Shirley Lunn of Belmont, Dave Major of St. Thomas and Margaret Hindley (Carm) of St. Thomas. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Barb was born in Boxall on October 8th, 1941, the daughter of the late Clifford and Alice (Morgan) Major.  She was retired from the Red Cross (Homemaker) and also worked for Southwold Township. Barbara was a long time member of the Port Stanley Legion Branch 410. She was a former Ladies Auxillary President, and  Past Zone Commander. She coached Jr Girls Baseball and in early years played baseball of the Fingal Gals Baseball Team. Barb helped start Girl Guides in Fingal and was a leader for a number of years.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Fingal Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Elgin.
