Kissinlinger-It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Melissa “Missy” Rose Kisslinger at the Sakura House Hospice in Woodstock, with her mother by her side on Saturday, August 29th, 2015, after a 10 year courageous battle with cancer. Missy is survived by her pride and joy, the reason she fought so hard, her daughter Sofee (and father Kevin) and her loving mother, Laura Florentin (Bob), sister Lindsey (Mark) and nieces Inaya and Mya, all of Dearborn, Heights, Michigan. Missy is also survived by her loving and dedicated boyfriend, Mark MacDaniel of London. She was a very social girl and had many, many friends. She will be forever missed by Tanya, Angie, Eva, Jennifer, Melissa, Crystal, Sam and Kathy and too many to write(you know who you are) . Sadly missed by many other special family and friends. Melissa was born March 3, 1976 in Tillsonburg. She moved to St. Thomas at the age of 3, where she lived for the rest of her life. Melissa attended A.V.S.S., St. Joseph’s Catholic High School and Fanshawe College where she obtained her PSW diploma. She worked at Caressant Care Home, Bonnie Place prior to her diagnosis of breast cancer at the age of 29. She fought for 10 years to beat this disease, and you’d never know she was unwell. She always looked so beautiful with her hair, nails and make-up done. She was a Princess, and will always be that and that is how we will remember her.
The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Missy’s life will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers remembrances would be appreciated to an Education Fund for Soffie. Condolences may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
