LeCourtois, Mabel

LeCourtois, Mabel of Goodness Home, St. Thomas, passed away peacefully, on Friday, February 10th, 2017, at her late residence, at the age of 104. Beloved wife of the late Walter Charles LeCourtois (1977) and dearly loved mother of Alan W. LeCourtois (Donna), Jeanne Oldfield (Ron) and the late Gary F. LeCourtois (Beth) and late Carol (Morse) LeCourtois), all of St. Thomas. She was the last of her family. Sadly missed by a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Mabel was born in Middlesex County on December 29th, 1912, the daughter of the late Leman and Cora (Carter) Hawley. She worked for many years as a secretary for an Insurance Adjusters Company. She was a former member of Branch 41 of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Supreme Rebekah’s, Eastern Star and the Elgin Labour Centre. Mabel was active for many years with Boy Scouts Canada. Mabel was chosen 2016 Provincial Rebekah of the Year. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. by Officers and Members of the Supreme Rebekah Lodge. Flowers gratefully declined, with remembrances to the charity of choice.
