Leeson: John E. of Thamesville

Leeson: John E., a resident of Thamesville, passed away peacefully at Riverview Gardens, Chatham at the age of 81. Born in Camden Twp., son of the late John Newsham and Mildred (McGugan) Leeson. John was the former Warden of Kent County – 1983, former Reeve of Camden Township, and served on Camden Township Council for 35 years. Beloved husband of Sylvia (Buckingham) Leeson. Loving father of John W. Leeson (Lucy) of Chatham, Bonnie Neaves (Larry) of Chatham. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Lawrence Neaves (Jen), Jean Mitchell (Reed), Amy Neaves (Kenny), John C. Leeson, Emily Lagace (Kevin) and great grandchildren Brandon, Erin, Megan, Matthew, Katelynn, Lawson, Eric and Danielle. Dear brother of Marguerite Butler (Ted) of Oakdale. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Mildred Elliott (Late Russell) and Marion Shepley (Late Burton).

The Leeson family will receive friends at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Lynn Brown officiating. Interment in Mayhew-Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Thamesville. Donations may be made at the funeral home by cheque to the Alzheimer Society or Thamesville United Church.
