LeFrank, Helen

LeFrank-Helen of Port Stanley passed away on Saturday, January 9th, 2016, at her residence, at the age of 71. Dearly loved partner of Elizabeth and loved mother of Charlotte LeFrank and Jennifer LeFrank (Warren Fisher).  Dear step-mother of Andrew and Candice Haselbah. Dear sister of the late Ralph “Cork” Foster (1991) and sister-in-law of Ann Foster of Tillsonburg. Dear aunt of Susan Cluett and  Catherine Fox and cousins of Tom Bell and Jane Bell.  Helen was born in Clinton, Ontario on April 9, 1944, the daughter of the late G. Ralph and Harriet Jean (Corson) Foster.  Helen was a former General Manager of the Elgin Community Futures Development Corp., former Co-Owner of ME & Suzie’s, Port Stanley, former manager of Kettle Creek Canvas Company, former General Manager of Seams Easy,  former St. Thomas Alderman (2nd woman Alderman in St. Thomas), former executive director of the Y.W.C.A. and helped to establish the first Women’s Shelter. Recognized by the City of St. Thomas for her community work and volunteering and named an outstanding young Canadian.

Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Elgin Business Resourch Centre (Helen LeFrank Youth Entrepreneurial Award).
