McLandress-May My dear mother passed away peacefully early on Sunday morning, March 8th, 2015, just a month short of her 93rd birthday. I am so thankful that I was able to be with her. She will be lovingly remembered by my partner Paul Eastman, by her niece Gail Newcombe and her family Vic, Michelle, Jake and Darrell, by the Eastman family in Victoria and by her close friends and caregivers Tina Sims and Kathy Trueman. My deepest gratitude to everybody at Arbor Trace who provided extraordinary support, affection and comfort. Mom will be joining her beloved husband Jim, her sister and brother-in-law Muriel and Keith Chambers, her sister Viola, her brother Bill and her parents Florence and Orville Osborne. Mom and Dad were born and lived their full lives in St. Thomas. They spent many glorious summers at their cottage overlooking Lake Huron in Port Franks where Mom could watch one of her beautiful sunsets. She was not only a loving mother, wife, aunt and friend but also she had an accomplished career that culminated in her favourite job as Deputy Sheriff of Elgin County. She often talked fondly of the time she spent at the court house.
A service will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Thursday, March 12th. Visitation will be at 2:30 p.m. with a service at 3:00 p.m. followed by interment and a reception.
“Happy Sunset, Mom”
Your loving son Michael.
