Palmer, Kenneth Wayne of London and formerly of Port Stanley, is off to his next gig. He passed away at the L.H.S.C. (University Campus), on Wednesday, October 30th, 2013, at the age of 65. Loved son of the Mary Palmer and the late Kenneth Palmer Sr. Loved best friend of Lucy Gravelle of London. Dear brother of Sid Palmer (Robert) of St. Thomas. Special uncle to Kelly Palmer and loved cousin of Kim Palmer (Tom), Viva Palmer (John), Eva Johnstone (Gary), Matt Palmer (Rebecca). Predeceased by his aunt Eva Jean Palmer. Sadly missed by many cousins and friends from all over the world. Ken was born in Montreal on October 5th, 1948. He was a music teacher and taught mandolin and guitar lessons. Ken was one of the founding members of the bluegrass group The Dixie Flyers (1974). Recently the Dixie Flyers were inducted into the London Music Hall of Fame and he received the Jack Richardson award. Ken also worked a number of years for Sam the Record Man in London .
Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where a funeral service will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Rev’d Robert Clifford officiating. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
