Prentice-It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Thomas Leon Prentice, of Port Stanley, on Tuesday, March 4th, 2014,in his 81st year. Tom is survived by his loving wife and soul mate Ruth (Barber) Prentice. He has left 3 step-children, Peter (Trudy) Barber, Kathy (Dave) Barber and Don (Joy-Anne) Barber. Tom was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Survived also by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister Ann Marie Beckham, Brother Jim Prentice and niece Brenda Falk. Tom owned and operated Sun Ray Cleaners in London for 35 years. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lodge #94 A.F. and A.M., Port Stanley and was an affiliate member of Centennial Lodge, London. Tom was a proud Shriner, participating the Mocha Temple Trumpet Band and the Mocha Love Bugs. Tom was a member of the Port Stanley Legion and Port Stanley United Church.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Friday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 9:00 p.m. Officers and members of St. Mark’s Lodge #94 will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday at 6:45 p.m. A wake to celebrate Tom’s life will be held at the Port Stanley Legion on Sunday,MARCH 16th from 2-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
