RAPPOSELLI, Ettore, known to his friends in Canada as Tony, passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, November 27, 2016, in his 78th year. He was born and raised in Chieti, Italy where he learned about agriculture. He joined the Police Force (Carabinieri) in Rome, Italy, but in 1961, he discharged himself to join his family in Canada, who had emigrated in 1960. He was predeceased by his parents, Giovanni (1991) and Ida (nee Rabottini) Rapposelli (1996). Also predeceased by his only brother, Carlo Rapposelli (1972), and his eldest sister, Carmela LaRovere (2007) and her husband Guerino (2013). He is survived by his beloved wife Marilyn (nee Bee) Rapposelli. Dear father of Carla Davidson (Bill), and Tanya and Jeff Rapposelli. Cherished grandfather of Johnny Robert Lee Haskett, Tori, Nicole, Bailey and Riley Rapposelli. Dear brother of Maria DiBenedetto (Marino), Antonietta DiMeo (Enzo), Elena D’Arcangelo (late Anthony 2014), and Wanda Woytaz. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins in Canada as well as Italy.
In Canada, Tony owned and operated his own business, E. (Tony) Rapposelli Construction, for over 40 years until he retired. He was a 3rd Degree member of the Father Ernie Deslippe Council # 1467, Knights of Columbus, St .Thomas. He was a member of St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Thomas. While still in Italy, Tony was a sharp shooter while on the police force. He was an avid hunter and trap shooter. Tony was a member of the Aylmer and St. Thomas Gun Clubs. He was a motorcyclist in Italy and a snowmobilier in Canada with a love of the outdoors. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no public visitation or funeral service. Private interment in Holy Angels’ Cemetery, will take place at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, the STEGH Foundation (Palliative Care Unit), or St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church will be gratefully acknowledged.
