Smalldon (Thom)-Blanche Marie of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully, on Monday, June 10th, 2013, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Harvey Smalldon (July 2006) and dearly loved mother of Sharon Anne Smalldon of St. Thomas and Tom Smalldon and his wife Marilyn of Maple Ridge, B.C. Loved grandmother of Jeffery McDonald, Gregory Smalldon and Melissa Peters. Dear sister of Marline Turner of London. Predeceased by a brother William Thom and by sisters Elsie Lees, Ida Wright and Thelma Bodkins. Sadly missed by 4 great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Blanche was born in Walford on January 14, 1930, the daughter of the late John Thom and Catherine (Delick) Thom. She came to St. Thomas in 1946 and worked at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital and the Nurse’s Residence.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or charity of choice.
