Vanderveen, Corneilus “Cor”

Vanderveen – Corneilus “Cor” of Elgin Manor, St. Thomas passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, July 10th, 2016 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of the late Klaske “Clara” Vanderveen (2013) and dearly loved father of George and his wife Jenny Vanderveen, Gerben and his wife Cheryl Vanderveen and Martin Vanderveen. Predeceased by infant daughter Florence Vanderveen (1966). Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Kevin (Amy), Diana, Gregory and Cassandra Vanderveen and two great-grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law of Sita Vanderveen, Pieter and his wife Boukje Jouwsma and Mien Meulenkamp. Predeceased by his brother, Robert Vanderveen. Lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Cor was born in The Netherlands on January 12th, 1931, son of the late Robert and Martje Vanderveen. He was retired from Clarke Equipment after 31 years. Cor was a member and worked as church caretaker for many years at First Christian Reformed Church, St. Thomas.
Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00am. Interment to follow in Elmdale Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 7:00-9:00pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Online condolences may be sent to
