WAITE – Bette Louise of Port Stanley passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on January 13th, 2015. Dear Mother of Richard “Bernie” Waite (Lisa), Beth Ann and Bradley Connors, all of Port Stanley. Loving Grandmother to Tricia Waite and husband Brian Holden, great-grandmother to Alexis and Averie Waite. Bette was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years Leroy Waite (March 2014), and her precious grandson Dale Waite (May 2013). Sister of Jean Crooker, Anna Cook, Mary Jane Dunn (Jim), Dick, and Pat (Kathy) Gray. Predeceased by sisters, Lenore and Deanna and brothers, George, Jack, Paul, Jim and Michael. She was also survived by several cousins, in-laws, and nieces and nephews. Born in Aylmer on November 4th, 1929, Bette was the daughter of the late Russell and Rose (Millard) Gray. Bette was the last surviving charter member of the Port Stanley Lioness Club. Bette was proud to be a Lioness and participated in many volunteer activities over 51 years.
Bette has been cremated and as per Bette’s wishes there will be no public visitation. There will be a Celebration of Bette’s Life, along with a Lioness Service on April 25th, 2015 from 2-4pm at the Port Stanley Legion Branch 410. All family, friends, neighbours, Lioness and Lions members are asked to join our family with your memories of Bette at this time.
