Welbourn – Ola Lillian (Marshall) of Middlesex Terrace and formerly of Port Stanley passed away peacefully at her late residence on Sunday, June 29th, 2014, in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Frank Welbourn (2006) and loved mother of John and his wife Judy Welbourn of London. Cherished grandmother of Christine Currie Loscher (Bob Coffin), Christopher (Jennifer) and David (Carla) Welbourn, great-grandmother of Christopher (Stacy) and Amanda Bolt, Faith and Ava Welbourn and Kiptyn and Maisy Welbourn and great great-grandmother of Aeris Bolt. Predeceased by her infant twins Donald Leslie and Douglas Lenard Welbourn (1950) and her daughter Carol Marie Currie (2003) (Late “Joe” Irwin). Dear sister of Fran (Roger) VanDaele and Lucy (Lee) Murray. Predeceased by her siblings, Leverne (Gert) Marshall, Alan (Jean) Marshall, Janet (Don) Nobbs, Jean (Armand) Loucks, and Rosemary Marshall. She will be lovingly remembered by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ola was born in Houghton Township on April 3rd, 1921, daughter of the late Stuart and Pearl (Riddell) Marshall. Ola worked for many years at Walker’s Store downtown St. Thomas. She was an adherent member of Christ Church Anglican in Port Stanley and was also actively involved in Port Stanley Guide’s for many years. She will be fondly remembered by all her knew her for her delicious cooking and baking.
A public memorial service to celebrate Ola’s life will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street St. Thomas on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service on Friday from 10-11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place with private interment of ashes in Elmdale Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Christ Church Anglican; Port Stanley, Riverside United Church Expansion Fund; London or charity of one’s choice.
