West, William “Bill” of St. Thomas

West, William “Bill” of St. Thomas, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on Monday, June 10th, 2013, at the Elgin Manor, in his 67th year. Beloved husband to Pat (Healey) and loving father to Jeff (Julie), Chris and Jamie (Crystal). Specially loved grandfather to Abby and Myles and grandpa Bill to Ava, Adrian and Mia. He will be missed by his mother-in-law Jo (Healey) McKeough and bother-in-law and sisters-in-laws Jerry and Brenda, Bob and Peggy and Mary and Costa. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Bill was born in St. Thomas on March 31, 1947, the son of the late Clifford and Anne (Morton) West. He enjoyed his many years at General Motors where he maintained close friendships to this day, along with the friends he treasured from St. Anne’s Choir, Knights of Columbus and his many wonderful neighbours. He enjoyed golf, curling, playing cards and was an avid reader. He also followed the N.F.L. along with his three sons.

The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday at St. Anne’s from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anne’s Church on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Angels’ Cemetery. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Caring Cupboard, St. Thomas or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
