Williams, Hazel Margarite

Hazel Margarite Williams July 21, 1939 – December 30, 2016 Surrounded by family and friends, Hazel passed away peacefully on December 30th at Elgin General Hospital, shortly after being diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer. One of 10 siblings, Hazel was born in Southward Station and lived her entire life in Southold and St Thomas. She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit and her love for children and animals. She treated her son Grant like a king and was always the first to extend a helping hand to those in need. Hazel was constantly on the go. She worked hard and played hard. After retiring from Thermodisc, Hazel served as a volunteer at Elgin Manor, Elgin General Hospital and helped many others in the community. Hazel will be sadly missed by her son Grant (Melanie), Sister Mary (Dave), Sisters-in-law; Wilma, Doris and Jean and her many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her lifelong partner Harold Warner, Parents Sadie & Warren Williams, Siblings; Evelyn, Melvin, Morley, Laura, Alvin, Glen, John & Lorne. We would like to acknowledge Hazel’s very special friends Jack & Pam Johnston who were like family. A special thanks to the doctors & nurses at Elgin General. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial service will be held on Wed. Jan. 4th, 3:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home 45 Elgin St. St. Thomas. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
