Wilson, Rev. Dr. Robert “Bob” George

Wilson – Rev. Dr. Robert “Bob” George of St. Thomas passed away peacefully at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2016, in his 74th year. Beloved partner of Susan Elizabeth Mason and dearly loved father of Amanda (Jody) of Mississauga, Paul (Keiko) of Tokyo and step-father of Brandon Mason. Dear brother of Donna Mitchell (late Steve) of Lucan and Douglas Wilson (Wendy) of Dorchester. Lovingly remembered by his seven grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was born in Toronto on July 11th, 1943, son of the late Robert and Marjorie (McCourt) Wilson. He worked for 25 years for the Burlington OPP Auxiliary, worked as a teacher at Syl Apps Youth Centre in Oakville and finally retired with Canadian Corps of Commissionaires. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the Harley Davidson Motorcycle Club, the OPP Veterans Association, the Blue Knights and was a Honourary Colonel with the Kentucky Colonels. Bob was also an expert in firearms. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin Street, St. Thomas where funeral services will be held on Monday at 12:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and Monday from 11:00-12:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation, the London Regional Cancer Centre or to the charity of one’s choice.
