2 drivers under the influence

A St. Thomas Police officer while on patrol observed a male in a vehicle on Talbot St. at approximately 01:30hrs. It appeared that the lone male was asleep in the driver’s seat and the vehicle was running. Police approached the male and it became evident that the male was under the influence of alcohol. The 65 year old male was arrested and charged for being impaired while having care and control of the motor vehicle. The male is to appear in court in early February.

At approximately 02:55hrs St. Thomas Police observed a motor vehicle travelling on Talbot St without any lights on. Police conducted a traffic stop and approached the male driver. While speaking to the driver it became evident the male was under the influence of alcohol. The 22 year old male was arrested and charged with having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of blood while operating a motor vehicle. The male was released and will appear in court in early February.
