Shortly after 2:30AM Friday April 27, 2012 a St Thomas Police officer observed an adult female walking on a North end street. While speaking with the female the officer conducted a police check which revealed she was wanted on an outstanding London Police Service warrant for theft. The female was arrested and upon checking her purse a small amount of cocaine oxycodone and syringes were found. During her transport to police headquarters the female was acting suspicious and appeared to be concealing something in her clothing. Upon arrival at police headquarters the female was escorted to the booking room where she resisted attempts by a female cadet to conduct a search of her person. During the search the accused female kicked the female police cadet in the face area at which time she was subdued by additional officers. The 34 year old accused female has been charged with (2) counts of possessing a controlled substance (2) counts of breaching the terms of an Undertaking interim release order (1) count of resisting and wilfully obstructing a peace officer, and (1) count of assaulting a peace officer.
She was held in custody pending an A.M. court appearance.
Sometime between 1:00PM and 2:00PM Thursday April 27, 2012 unknown person(s) slashed the back tire on a vehicle parked at a Talbot Street parking lot. Anyone with information is asked to contact the St Thomas Police Service at 519-631-1364 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Motor vehicle – pedestrian collision
On Friday April 27, 2012 St Thomas Police attended a motor vehicle collision on Talbot Street at the entrance to the A&W plaza. Police say around 9:30AM a 40 year old female pedestrian was struck by a motorist as she crossed the roadway entrance to the plaza. The female pedestrian was transported by ambulance to St Thomas Elgin General Hospital where she was treated for non life threatening injuries. Police have charged the female driver with failing to yield to a pedestrian.
