2012-05-15 – Robbery

St Thomas Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the back parking lot of 669 Talbot Street Monday evening May 14, 2012. Police say shortly after 10:00PM a 25 year old female was confronted by two other adult females that assaulted her while stealing her purse. Both suspects fled in a Westerly direction through the alleyway. The suspects are described as both being in their late twenties to early thirties, brown pony tails and wearing blue jeans. The victim did not require medical treatment. The purse was later recovered in the backyard of a John Street residence. The victim’s money was stolen from the purse. Impaired driving suspect arrested

Shortly after 10:00PM Monday May 14, 2012 St Thomas Police received information from a concerned citizen about an impaired driver operating a vehicle within the city. A short time later an alert officer observed the vehicle and female driver in the back parking lot of a Talbot Street bar. The 23 year old driver refused to provide breath samples into a road side alert, and resisted officers during the arrest. The accused is charged with resist and wilfully obstruct a peace officer and refusing to provide breath samples. She was later released on conditions that included a future court date
