2012-05-24 – Robbery investigated

On Wednesday May 23, 2012 St Thomas Police attended a Talbot Street apartment complex regarding a robbery. Police say around 4:30PM a female tenant entered an elevator occupied by the male suspect. When she attempted to exit the elevator on the fifth floor, the male suspect grabbed her purse. He was last seen running down the fifth floor hallway to a staircase. The suspect is described as wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt, gray pants and a gray hat. Drug warrant

On Wednesday evening May 23, 2012 St Thomas Police Drug Enforcement Unit executed at search warrant at a Hincks Street apartment. During the search police seized 1.4 grams of crack cocaine. A 47 year old female and 35 year old male have been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking and breaching the conditions of a probation order. The street value of the drug was $ 140.00. Both people were held at police headquarters pending a Thursday May 24, 2012 court appearance.

Female charged with multiple offences

At around 6:40PM Wednesday evening a 25 year old female attended a residence on Hincks Street where St Thomas Police Drug Enforcement Officers were executing a search warrant. While inside the residence a taxi cab driver knocked on the door and notified officers the female had refused to pay her taxi fare and had left a large quantity of meat in the taxi. Further investigation determined the meat was recently stolen from a Wellington Street grocery store. The accused has been charged with theft, transportation fraud, possession of a controlled substance, and breaching the terms of her probation order. She was held overnight at police headquarters pending a Thursday May 24, 2012 court appearance.

Females arrested for robbery

St Thomas Police have arrested a 25 year old female and 40 year old female for robbery. Police say Frances Forsythe and Tammy Sawyer were arrested following an investigation whereby a female was assaulted and had her purse stolen in the alleyway behind 669 Talbot Street May 14, 2012. Both are being held pending future court appearances.
