2012-05-28 – Male arrested for Woodstock Police Service

On Sunday May 27, 2012 St Thomas Police arrested a 28 year old St Thomas man wanted by the Woodstock Police Service for uttering death threats and assault causing bodily harm. Woodstock Police attended St Thomas later that day to retrieve the male.

Break and enter

St Thomas Police are investigating a break and enter that occurred at Scott Street residence sometime between 5:30PM and 7:00PM Sunday May 27, 2012. Anyone with information is asked to contact the St Thomas Police Service at 519 631-1364 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Drunk arrested

Shortly after 2:00AM Monday May 28, 2012 St Thomas Police arrested and charged a 32 year old male for being intoxicated on St Catharine Street. The man was held at police headquarters until sober.

Updated media Release Motor vehicle collision

On Sunday May 27, 2012 St Thomas Police attended a motor vehicle collision on Fingal Line. Police say at around 1:10AM a single motor vehicle travelling Eastbound on Fingal Line lost control striking a telephone pole. The driver Brandon Roger Hughes a 22 year old male resident of London Ontario left the scene of the accident on foot prior to police arrival, and was later located by a tracking dog near Sunset Drive. Two passengers of the vehicle Kyle Thomas Phillip Payne a 25 year old male St Thomas resident and Andrew Richard Herbert a 28 year old London Ontario resident were fatally injured in the crash. The accused Brandon Hughes is charged with two (2) counts of Failure to stop at the scene of an accident causing death, two (2) counts of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and one count of possession of a controlled substance. Brandon Hughes was remanded in custody pending a Wednesday May 30, 2012 court appearance.
