2012-05-29 – Stepfather arrested

On Monday May 28, 2012 St Thomas Police arrested and charged a 39 year old male for assaulting his stepson. The accused was later released on conditions that included a future court date. The victim did not require medical treatment.

Break and enter

St Thomas Police are investigating a break and enter that occurred at a Balaclava Street home between 4:00PM and 4:30PM Monday May 28, 2012. Police are continuing to investigate the incident. Impaired driver charged

On Monday May 28, 2012 St Thomas Police attended a motor vehicle collision on First Avenue just North of Elm Street. Police say at around 8:00PM a 26 year old male was operating a vehicle and reversing from a driveway on First Avenue when he collided with a second vehicle. While speaking with the driver officers smelled an odour of alcohol on his breath and administered a road side alcohol test. The instrument registered a fail and the driver was arrested. He was transported to police headquarters where he provided breath samples in excess of the legal limit. He was subsequently charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood. He was later released on conditions that included a future court date.

New Traffic Project

St Thomas Police are initiating a new traffic project at First Avenue and Elm Street. Drivers are turning Westbound onto Elm Street from First Avenue without stopping at the posted stop sign just in front of Tim Hortons Donuts. Drivers found disobeying the sign will receive a $ 110.00 ticket.
