On 16 June 2012 at 1352hrs, the St. Thomas Police Service received information that a stolen motor vehicle was being driven southbound into the city on Wellington Road. The information was confirmed and the stolen motor vehicle was stopped by officers. A 22 yr old female and an 18 yr old female were arrested for Possession of Stolen Property under $5000. The motor vehicle was recovered and was eventually returned to the owner. The 22 yr old female was released from custody with a future court date and conditions to abide by, on the charge of Possession of Stolen Property under $5000. The 18 yr old female was held in custody for a weekend court appearance on the charges of Possession of Stolen Property under $5000, Breach of Probation, and Driving without a valid drivers licence under the Highway Traffic Act. The motor vehicle was originally reported stolen to the OPP on 15 June 2012.
In the early morning hours of 17 June 2012, the St. Thomas Police Service arrested three persons that were “Intoxicated in a Public Place” contrary to the Liquor Licence Act. The individuals (50 yr old male, 41 yr old male, 26 yr old female) were lodged at the police station until sober. All three arrests were unrelated matters.
In the early morning hours of 17 June 2012, at 0206hrs, the St. Thomas Police Service received information that an intoxicated 47 yr old male was driving his motor vehicle in the core of the city. Officers located the vehicle and spoke to the male driver. Alcohol intoxication was suspected and the male was arrested for Impaired Driving. The male was transported to the police station where he provided two breath samples registering nearly three times the legal limit. The male was later released with a future court date and conditions to abide by.
