A 37 year old St. Thomas man faces a number of charges after he’s caught lying to police.

The male was seen operating a motor vehicle in the area of Talbot Street and White Street around 11:15am September 22, 2014. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver provided ownership and insurance for the vehicle however was only able to provide verbal identification.

Through investigation it was discovered that the driver provided a false identity. The male was subsequently charged with obstructing police, drive while disqualified X3, and drive while suspended. The vehicle was impounded for 45 days and the accused was released with a future court date.
