Assault

On April 1st, 2016 at approximately 8:30 p.m. St. Thomas Police arrested a 48 year old Alvinston man for assault at Memorial Arena. The man was a spectator at a minor league hockey game when he became engaged in an argument with another male spectator. The Alvinston man then punched the victim in the side of the head numerous times. The altercation was broken up by other spectators in the arena and the police were called. The man was subsequently arrested for assault and later released with a future court date. The victim was transported to STEGH for treatment of his injuries and later released. The accused was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
