B & L Robbery – Suspect in custody

At approximately 2:38pm on February 1, 2016, the St. Thomas Police received a call regarding a robbery in progress at B & L Jewellery. Officers arrived on scene to find a store employee that had been assaulted during the incident.

The accused had entered the store, engaged in a short conversation with the store employee and then punched her in the face, hopped the counter and continued assaulting her. He then used zip ties and duct tape on her legs, arms and mouth. A customer entered while this was occurring, he assaulted her and forced her into a back room but she managed to escape and call for help. The accused grabbed cases of jewellery and left out the rear door leaving a trail behind him.

Through Forensic identification and video surveillance the suspect was identified. He was arrested in London on Tuesday February 2, 2016, at 5:30pm, by members of the St. Thomas Police Service and St. Thomas K9 unit. A job well done by all of the Officers involved.

As a result 40 year-old Wallace Piercey of London faces charges of Robbery, Assault, and Assault causing bodily harm, Forcible Confinement, and Breach of Recognizance. He’s being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
