At approximately 5:00am St. Thomas Police located two youths walking in the area of South Edgeware Rd and Balaclava St. Both were carrying fishing poles and back packs and advised they had been fishing since 8:00pm the previous day. The stories provided by the youths to Police appeared to be fictitious.
Trax was called in to work and followed a track to a Dalewood Dr. address where he located a shed and a garage that had been broken into.
As a result, a 17 year old St. Thomas youth and 18 year old St. Thomas man were arrested and charged with Break and Enter, possession of Stolen Property and person under 19 having liquor.
Fishing equipment and alcohol were recovered and returned to the owner. A great investigation done by our Officers, Cst. James, and Trax.
St. Thomas Police also responded to reports of three more Break and Enters in the Lakeview Circle area. It’s believed they occurred between the hours of 10:30pm May 27 and 5:30am May 28, 2014. A large quantity of power tools were taken. It’s not believed that these are related to the Dalewood Dr. incident. Police are continuing to investigate.
On May 27, 2014, a sum of money was discovered at a change machine at a local business. The person that discovered the large sum of money turned it into the Police so it could be returned to the rightful owner. We wanted to say thank you to all the Good Samaritan’s out there. It’s people like this that make St. Thomas a great place to live!
