Community & Police working together

Thanks to a concerned citizen, St. Thomas Police were able to catch up with a vehicle that was contravening the Smoke Free Ontario Act.

Shortly before 6:00pm on March 31, 2015, a concerned citizen observed a vehicle driving with the driver and passenger both smoking inside the vehicle while small children were seated in the rear. Police located the vehicle and subsequently charged the 49 year old male driver under section 9.2(1) of the Smoke Free Ontario Act. This Act clearly states that unless everyone inside the vehicle is over the age of 16 years, smoking is prohibited.
