Dangerous Driving

On January 5, 2016 shortly before 8:00pm Police received numerous calls regarding a vehicle driving dangerously within the City. Complainants advised that the vehicle was tailgating, following vehicles to their destinations and intimidating them by revving the engine, spinning tires and lastly driving on the front lawns of residences and ramming vehicles on Balaclava Street.

The vehicle was intercepted by Police and the driver immediately placed under arrest for Dangerous Driving. The driver resisted arrest and fought with the Officers on scene and spitting in one’s face.

As a result of the entire incident the 21 year-old male from St. Thomas faces charges of; Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle, Drive with more than 80mgs, Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle, Resisting arrest and Assaulting a Peace Officer. His alcohol readings were nearly 3x the legal limit. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
