On Saturday, June 28th, 2014 St. Thomas Police arrested an 18 year old male for assaulting his 19 year old girlfriend. The police were called to the couple’s residence at approximately 11:30 am after an argument became physical. The male was brought to the police station where he was later released with a future court date. The female did not receive any serious injuries as a result of the incident.
Family Dispute Turns Physical
At approximately 8:15 pm on Saturday, June 28, 2014, police arrested a 20 year old St.Thomas man for assaulting his 52 year old mother. The mother and son became involved in a heated exchange in rear yard of their residence. During the argument, the accused forced his mother to the ground and broke her cell phone in an attempt to stop her from calling police. When police arrived on the scene a short time later the accused was arrested for assaulting his mother but he then resisted the officer’s attempts to handcuff him. The accused was subdued and transported to the police station where he was remanded into custody for assault and resist arrest.
