Shortly after midnight on Saturday, December 29, 2012 a 43 year old St. Thomas male was arrested after assaulting his 31 year old wife. The male was charged with one count of uttering threats to cause death, assault and assault with a weapon. He was held for a morning court appearance.
On Monday, December 24th, 2012 St. Thomas Police arrested a 40 year old London man for obstruct police and fail to comply with a condition of a recognizance. The man came to the attention of the police when a loss prevention officer from an east end store observed the suspicious activity of the man and contacted police. When the officers spoke to the man he gave a false name. Officers learned the true identity of the man through investigation and it was then discovered that the man was on judicial release orders with conditions, as well as a warrant for his arrest from another agency. The man was subsequently arrested and charged with obstruct police and failing to comply with a recognizance. The man was held for court where he was remanded into custody for a bail hearing.
On Sunday evening, December 23rd, at approximately 10:00 pm St. Thomas police conducted a traffic stop on Highbury Ave. As a result of that stop a quantity of cocaine was recovered and two males were arrested for possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. A 25 year old St. Thomas man was later released from custody with a future court date while a 40 year old St. Thomas man was held in custody for a court appearance.
